Full Metal Alchemist/Full Metal Alchemist : Brotherhood |
|
this is one of the series that i haven't finished yet but i can still give a decent review on. the series was actually fairly good, until you got to certain points where a lot of characters started dropping dead for no apparent reason. yes this was a very depressing show. the premise of the show is about two young boys Edward Elric, and Alfonse Elric, they are both experienced alchemists, when their mother died, they tried to revive her using a forbidden type of alchemy, human transmutation. in this they would gather the ingredients to make a human, and try to bring it to life. however when they attempted this they had what they needed to make a body, but not a soul. following the rule of equivalent Alfonse's whole body was destroyed, and Ed's right arm and left leg were taken as well. Alfonse was nothing but a soul, in the spur of the moment, Edward had nothing else to attach the soul to but some old armor. he bound Al's soul to the armor, and throughout the whole series, all Al really is, is hollow armor. after this incident, Al, who's soul was now inside the armor and had full control of all the limbs, took the badly hurt Ed to their neighbor's house. at the house lived their friend Winry ( who Ed has a massive crush on ), and her grandmother who's name escapes me. Winry's parents were medics in a war you don't know very much about yet. there they were killed. Winry's grandmother, who is also a specialist in what is known as automail (this is a term the series uses frequently, it is a mechanical prosthetic) the grandmother attaches automail to where his right arm and his left leg used to be. shortly after he wakes up there is a knock at the door, at the door there is a man called lieutenant-colonel Roy Mustang. he makes Ed the offer of becoming an alchemist. he accepts, they test him, he comes out number one. he is only 12 when he is tested. i am not going to tell you anything more from here. the series is very drawn out. and the 2 versions (brotherhood, and just regular) start to get very different from here on out. it also get very depressing, so i want to leave on a somewhat happy note.
i give this series a 3/5 stars. i give this score because it's too sad, and really long. so, i'm sorry if this disappoints you guys who are reading this, well see you later!
